About Me

updated April 18, 2025

I feel like introducing yourself is kind of impossible. There's bound to be some part of your persona that you wouldn't be able to fully explain in words.

But then again, I suppose it would be a disservice to talk about the parts I can explain.

Let me describe myself by talking about what I value.

I value thinking deeply. I like looking at things from a fundamental level, and I've made it a point to try approaching what I learn from first principles.

A lot of ideas, especially in abstract fields like math, can feel like fun facts. I want to be able to look at these ideas from a more intuition-based perspective.

I value individuality. I'm particularly intrigued in ideas that go beyond convention, not just for the sake of breaking convention, but to give more nuanced perspectives on life.

A lot of opinions I hold--in fields as specific as language acquisition to fields as general as education--are pretty niche...at least I think they are?

I value enjoyment. One of the overarching tenets of my moral fidget spinner compass is that enjoyment is the most valuable thing in life.

I strive to know more about computer science as a field because I love the ideas in it.

I value stories--stories that embody deep ideas, stories that embody individuality, and stories that embody enjoyment.

My favorite fictional pieces and characters are my favorites because they are closest to not only who I am as a person, but also who I want to be as a person.
